Each "band" is led by a truck with the announcer, speakers and refreshments for the revelers.
The speakers are huge, the music is deafening!
Jim was out front taking pictures and I attempted to get some video. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, we shot lots of pictures and video of peoples' backsides. So welcome to Backs and Butts 2011!
The kids.
The adults.
I knew you wouldn't disappoint. Great pics and the videos are a nice touch too, even if our internet isn't strong enough to play them. I definitely like being able to adjust the volume when going to a virtual Carnival. Enjoy the rest of your summer!
ReplyDeleteMagnolia -Bill Dietrich is also in Grenada, but he did not seem to get the beautiful pictures that you got. I will say so far their Carnival is the closest to the Trinidad Carnival, with respect to costumes. Music I was not able to identify the tunes or lyrics. However, Grenada has always been associated as great friends of T&T. Missed that pulled picture with Jim and the girls. LOL
